The Kelce family dominates when it comes to sports romances. Obviously, you have the incredibly sweet relationship Travis has with megastar Taylor Swift. In another universe, I'm sure we would've saw those two have a tender moment on the field if the Chiefs 3-peated (for the sake of my football fandom, thank goodness that didn't happen.) Then, you have Jason Kelce, older brother to Travis, who retired not long ago and has a loving family with his wife Kylie. Their relationship seems completely organic and sweet, the benefit of building together outside of the public spotlight. However, her dad wasn't into their pairing one bit at first.

Recently, Kylie spoke on Call Her Daddy podcast. There, she speaks on the early days of her relationship with Jason and how she really didn't want to share it with anyone. It's not that she wasn't proud to be with her man but there are unfortunate perceptions in being with an athlete. Why would she want to deal with people accusing her of being a gold digger? Moreover, she wants to be her own person outside of the relationship too.
Kylie understandably doesn't want to deal with everyone trying to perceive what their relationship is when she's happy with how it is at the time. However, the biggest hurdle wasn't her friends or random strangers. Rather, it was her dad.
Kylie Kelce Tries to Keep Her Relationship With Jason Kelce From Her Dad
Kylie's dad rides for the Philadelphia Eagles like no other. On the other hand, he also remains fiercely protective over his daughter. So Kelce clearly sees the conflict of interests here and insists upon keeping it a secret from him. However, after mishearing a conversation, Kylie had to fess everything up. "[My sister] tried to rescue me like, hey, that's not the direction that conversation is going. My dad was like, 'Why are you so bothered by that?' And so then we had a coming to Jesus moment. Because my sister was like, 'She...she...she knows him,'" she recalls.
Safe to say, her pops was more than conflicted that his two lives were crossing paths. My dad was appalled. My dad was not happy. He was actually very disturbed. Very disturbed. He was like, 'Do not ruin this for me,'" Kylie adds.
Obviously, the Kelce family are more than great so Dad doesn't have anything to worry about now. He can root for the Eagles in peace.
