Lainey Wilson is about to be the first woman to host the CMAs since Reba in 1991. In an interview with Rolling Stone, Wilson was asked if she would poke fun at any fellow country stars. "I like to run my mouth, and I love country music," she shared. "I go way back with these people. Like, let me make fun of Luke Combs, please."

Wilson has admitted that, in her early days of being in Nashville, Combs would visit her in her camper trailer. The two would write songs together in the humble little home she lived in at the time. This was around 2013 or 2014, and the two artists have been supporting each other ever since.
This year, Combs is up for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year, as well as Single of the Year for "Ain't No Love In Oklahoma". Lainey is also nominated for six awards, including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year for Whirlwind. She stands at a tie for the most nominations with Ella Langley and Megan Moroney.
Lainey Wilson Reacts To Being Nominated for Entertainer of the Year
In a video on Instagram, Wilson reacted to being nominated for the "Entertainer of the Year" Award, which she's up for against Combs, Morgan Wallen, and Chris Stapleton. Eagerly waiting to hear who the nominees are, Wilson claps for Combs, Stapleton, and Wallen before hearing her own name added to the category. She does a little happy dance at the end to celebrate her nomination for the prestigious award.
Country music's "biggest night" takes place on November 19th, live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, TN. The show will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. Eastern Time.
"I grew up watching the CMA Awards like it was the Super Bowl, so to be hosting for a second year is a true honor," Wilson shared in an interview. "I'm humbled that CMA has trusted me with this role, and I can't wait to love on this genre that has given me so much."
