Lainey Wilson is on top of the world right now. She worked very hard to get there. Just a few days ago, she teamed with Vince Gill for a soulful duet at the Primetime Emmy Awards on "Go Rest High on That Mountain." Wilson's relatable, bell-bottom country style has also endeared her to countless fans.

Her awards shelf is already pretty crowded. She has landed an impressive array of honors. Her accolades come from the CMA, the ACM, the Grammys, CMT, iHeart Radio, and the People's Choice Awards. She is also a Grand Ole Opry member. And all by the age of 33! But Wilson is not resting on her laurels. Per Country Now, she is actively eyeing an acting career - and keeping two country music icons in mind who have successfully combined singing and the stage.
Wilson Is Energized by the Opportunities Awaiting Her
Per the outlet via Entertainment Tonight, the "Heart Like a Truck" singer said this. "The truth is I never really thought I'd ever be acting, but it's just something that I feel like my storytelling has kind of led to, and these doors have opened, and I am all about taking opportunity. When I think about the kind of artist I want to be, I think about people like Reba and Dolly Parton and the ones that always kept music at the forefront, but they weren't scared to kind of color outside of the lines."
Parton and McEntire are like business conglomerates, given all the endeavors that they are into. Parton is an actress, author, humanitarian, and entrepreneur. McEntire had her own comedy show, plus a fashion brand and a restaurant. She was also a coach on The Voice.
Offers for Acting Gigs Are Coming Her Way
Wilson already has acting experience. She was on Season 5 of the TV drama Yellowstone as Abby, a rising musical talent. Per the outlet via Taste Of Country Nights, she said, "I'm honestly getting pitched things right and left, which is cool. Opportunities where I am a musician, opportunities where I'm not, opportunities just to write for shows."
Furthermore, "She says she's 'entertaining a lot of things,' with possibilities that feel 'kinda endless at this point.'" Wilson will be in an upcoming feature film called Reminders of Him. That probably won't be her last movie, either. And in case she needs some guidance? She can always consult the playbooks of Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire for help!
