Wilson announces the exciting news on social media.
"I'm finding out the Whirlwind never stops," the Louisiana native writes. "The more I walk through it, the more my feet stay planted on the ground and my eyes to the sky. In honor of the one-year anniversary of Whirlwind's release, I will be dropping my Whirlwind (Deluxe) album on August 22!"
Whirlwind Deluxe includes Wilson's new single, "Somewhere Over Laredo," plus "King Ranch, King George, King James," "Yesterday, All Day, Every Day," "Bell Bottoms Up" and "Peace, Love, and Cowboy."

Wilson reveals the inspiration behind "Somewhere Over Laredo," which pays homage to Judy Garland's "Somewhere Over the Rainbow."
"When I'm flying between shows I catch myself looking out the window, talking to God, dreaming, or even reminiscing," Wilson says. "'Somewhere Over Laredo' tells a story that speaks to that. I've always been inspired by putting myself into other peoples' shoes and telling stories from others' perspective, but I've found a new creative avenue with this one putting myself back into a pair of shoes that I wore years ago."
Wilson performed "Somewhere Over Laredo" at the recent American Music Awards. At the ACM Awards earlier this month, Wilson performed another song, "Trailblazer," with Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert.
"I remember thinking that this could be a song that a grandmother and a daughter and a grandchild could listen to," Wilson tells Billboard. "And not just about the history of country music... If we're not thinking about the people that we're singing to, then they're not going to be able to relate."
It makes sense that Wilson would want to continue the Whirlwind chapter. The record, her fourth studio album, includes two hit singles: "Hang Tight Honey" and "4X4XU." Both songs were written about her relationship with her soon-to-be husband, Devlin "Duck" Hodges. The couple has yet to announce a wedding date.
