The letter is on display in her Tough As Nails exhibit, open now at the Country Music Hall of Fame.

"We were desperate," Wilson says with a laugh of the letter, while perusing her own exhibit. "I still have never met Tim McGraw."

"I'm about to send it to him now," she adds with a laugh.

Wilson also reads a portion of the letter, which shows how badly she wanted to be a country music singer.

What Lainey Wilson Say In Her Letter To Tim McGraw

Lainey Wilson begins her letter by revealing that she too is from Louisiana. She tells McGraw she has just completed her first semester at La Delta Community College, where she is pursuing a degree in nursing, although she has been writing songs since she was nine years old.

Wilson details her involvement with Jerry Cupit, detailing his illness that may prevent him from helping her as much as he would like.

"We are in the process of trying to get ready to get sponsors," Wilson writes. "But before we go around and ask people for sponsorship, my family and I would really like to talk with you. We feel like we can trust someone like who you comes from my hometown," she wrote, referring to their shared home state. "We could use some [insight] on the choices that we need to make in order to propel my career the smartest way possible."

Wilson goes on to tell McGraw that her grandfather, Hewlett Choate "followed you to some of your entertainment gigs before you got your big start, and I often pass by the house that you were brought home to as a baby."

Wilson closes her heartfelt letter with a passionate plea for any help he could offer.

"Singing, writing and performing are the most important things in my life," she says at the end. "All I need is the opportunity; I can do the rest."

Lainey Wilson's Tough As Nails exhibit will remain open until June of 2026.
