Everybody nowadays wants a little bit of country in their diet. However, there's an abundance of posers too, people who simply want to cosplay without truly understanding the lifestyle. Yellowstone is probably one of the focal points in this shift, among other social and creative reasons. Lainey Wilson certainly thinks so.

Recently, she spoke with Vanity Fair about Yellowstone upon its series finale. There, Wilson argues that Taylor Sheridan's hit TV show holds a strong grasp over country culture and a love for the old Western stylings. It's his genuine nature that sways the show from ever going into gimmicky territory. "It's crazy to see how the Taylor Sheridan world has really contributed to everything happening. It really did something for country music, and it did something for the Western culture in general," Lainey argues.

"Growing up that way, and even putting my cowboy hat on now and putting my jeans on and being around horses or rodeo or whatever it is, I feel at home. People are so sick of things that make them feel anything other than at home. People are craving that authenticity. I think they're just over the bullsh*t," Lainey adds.

Obviously, the show ends up paying dividends for Wilson in the end. Her music making its way into the show proper is one of the primary reasons why her career skyrockets at such an incredible pace. Lainey obviously sees value in those placements too. "I just didn't even realize how important it really was or how beneficial it was until a couple of my songs ended up on the show. Then people would come to shows, even if it was a handful of them. They'd be like, 'I found you through 'Yellowstone.' And I'm like, 'OK, these placements are doing something,'" she says.
