Lainey Wilson, Who Is Nominated in 6 Categories, Is Hosting the CMA Awards

It's no secret that Lainey Wilson can do it all! Now, she's proving this by hosting the CMAs, all while being up for six awards.

The CMA Awards just announced that Lainey Wilson will be hosting the CMA's this year. An event at which she is also nominated for several awards. Wilson co-hosted last year with Luke Bryan and Peyton Manning, but it looks like she'll be riding solo this time.

Just this morning, on X, the CMA Awards account posted a promo clip of Wilson in a snazzy blue suit. She prompts viewers, "I'm ready for this. Are y'all?" We don't know about everyone else right now, but yeah, we're definitely ready for this!

As iconic as being a solo host is, Lainey Wilson is also nominated for six out of the twelve categories this year. Ella Langley and Megan Moroney are also tied for nominations with Wilson, making this CMA's top nominees a female trifecta.

Last year, Wilson took home two awards from the show, including Female Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year for "Wildflowers and Wild Horses." Now, she's up for Entertainer of the Year, Album of the Year, Single of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year again.

Other notable nominees include Zach Top, with five nominations, and Riley Green and Cody Johnson, with four. Post Malone is also nominated for Album of the Year for F-1 Trillion, an impressive milestone for those crossing over into the country genre.

Lainey Wilson Talks About the First Song She Ever Wrote

Lainey Wilson is the perfect person to host the CMA Awards, simply because of her unmatched dedication to the genre. In a recent interview, Wilson spoke about what country music means to her. "Where I'm from, country music is just life. We eat, sleep, and breathe it. It was about the storytelling. When you're from a town of 157, you live your life on the edge of your seat waiting for the next story."

Wilson grew up in Baskin, Louisiana, and moved to Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 19. The "Heart Like A Truck" singer recalled being a little girl and writing her first song. "I wrote my first song at 9 years old, I felt like the voices on the radio were speaking to me," she shared. Then, laughing a bit, she said, "I was writing about tequila and cigarettes and everything else. I was an old soul." Now, this "old soul" is hosting the CMA awards, and we could not be more proud.

Country music fans can watch Lainey Wilson host the CMA Awards live from the Bridgestone Arena on November 19 at 7 p.m. CT on ABC.
