Being a new mom is no easy task. There is an awful lot to learn. No simple way to do it exists except to jump in and seek good advice when possible. Some people can be intrusively critical about a mom's personal parenting choices. Singer Lauren Alaina is apparently finding that out.

She and her husband, Cam Arnold, welcomed a healthy baby girl to their family in June. Along with the joy they have in rearing their new little one, there has been some pushback from nasty online commenters about Alaina's choice to bottle-feed newborn Beni Doll. The singer had posted a gently humorous video in which she talked about how many baby bottles she washes. Some took her to task for bottle-feeding.
Alaina Was Upset and Surprised by the Negative Comments
Per Taste of Country via Taste of Country Nights, Alaina was very much taken aback. She seemingly never expected that unkind reaction from members of the public. One person who called herself Nancy stood out as being excessively snarky.
Per the outlet, "Alaina explains to us that she has been pumping and feeding through a bottle because her daughter is having problems latching." The country music star said she is pumping, still working on breastfeeding, and also doing bottle-feeding.
Alaina said, "That video specifically was eye-opening to me. There were a lot of negative comments on that post, Nancy was not alone." She even posted another video in which she vehemently retorts to Nancy.
She added, "People assumed I'm not breastfeeding and they shamed me for it. Which, by the way, if I didn't wanna breastfeed my baby, that is my decision, so I don't know why people thought they could come for me. I have friends that can't breastfeed and they formula-fed their babies from the beginning and they're fine. People need to chill — like, who are you?"
People Supported the Singer
Other commenters adamantly stood up for Alaina online. She got plenty of hearty support. Hopefully, that offset the sting caused by the naysayers!
"As a momma who triple fed for MONTHS until we could get a tongue and lip tie revision done, I feel you momma...."
"My daughter had to do the same thing. It's a job in itself but now she is getting plenty of milk and the baby has a good latch...."
"I have worked as a Public Health Nurse for 25 years. We all know the benefits of breastfeeding for both mom and baby (according to the textbooks and research) but at the end of the day families have to do what works best for everyone. And the main thing is that baby gets fed, however that happens...."
"A fed baby is the only thing that matters!! The haters are just bored. Keep rocking momma you are doing an amazing job!!!!"
