Now, fans of the legendary metal band, Metallica, will get the opportunity to experience the magic of The Sphere. The band recently confirmed that it's agreed to an eight-show residency at the venue in the fall.

Lars Ulrich shared his excitement via a recent statement.

"About 12 seconds into the opening night of Sphere with U2 back in '23, I thought, 'We have to do this; it's completely uncharted territory!'" Lars Ulrich said. "This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months' time, and way fuckin' psyched to go next level!"

Opening night will occur on October 1, with a second show on October 3. There will then be shows on the 15th, 17th, 22nd, 24th, 29th and 31st of the same month. The mini-residency has been dubbed "Life Burns Faster," which is a lyric from the smash hit "Master Of Puppets" track.

Metallica Has Been Interested in Playing the Sphere for a While

Ulrich previously spoke about a potential show at The Sphere during an August 2025 interview with Howard Stern.

"It's something that we're looking at, at some point, when the 2026 tour is done," Ulrich said. "I'm not going to bulls**t you: I would f*****g love to do it, let there be no question about it. It's not signed, sealed, and delivered, but speaking to me and asking my opinion, I would f*****g love to do it."

Metallica is currently touring its "72 Seasons" album and will be in Europe throughout the summer. However, the Sphere residency will be a huge draw and should draw in fans from every corner of the globe. After all, how many chances will you get to see Metallic in such an immersive setting?
