Jane's Addiction has officially disbanded. The announcement came shortly after Perry Farrell hit Dave Navarro during a show in Boston. The fight ensued after Farrell became frustrated with his bandmate on stage, resulting in the two being separated in front of the audience.

As with any physical altercation, the dispute became litigious. Navarro filed a lawsuit against Farrell, and then the counter-suit followed. On Thursday, Dec. 18m Farrell shared some thoughts on the incident in a post to Instagram.
"I've reflected on it and know I didn't handle myself the way I should have. I apologize to our patrons and my bandmates for losing my temper and for disrupting the show," the caption read. "Jane's Addiction has been at the center of my life for decades. The band, the songs, the patrons and the impact that we've had on music and culture mean more to me than any words I could ever possibly write down. My aim has always been to give our audience the best possible show, something real, honest and positive. In Boston, we fell short of that, and I'm truly sorry to everyone who was impacted."
Jane's Addiction Confirmed the Split in Their Own Instagram Post
Following Farrell's post to Instagram, the band posted to their official page, noting how each member of the group will now embark on separate career paths.
"We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors. Jane's Addiction will forever live in our hearts. We are proud of the music we created together," the statement said. "You, the fans, are our lifeblood, and we will always appreciate you."
You may remember Jane's Addiction from their 1990 hit "Three Days" or their 1988 smash "Summertime Rolls". The band released four studio albums in total. Their Nothing's Shocking release came in 1988, while their last album, The Great Escape Artist, dropped in 2011.
The band is still highly popular, drawing in 1.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone. By disbanding the group, the rock music genre is losing an established legend within the space. Fans will now look forward to seeing what each member can achieve on their new career paths.
