John Godwin, longtime star of Duck Dynasty, has announced his retirement, and he's doing it in style.

Godwin was a decoy technician and duck call builder who appeared on the show. Now, however, is his time to relax as he announced his retirement at 62 years old.
He first said about his retirement on the Duck Call Room podcast, saying "25 years, that's enough."
"I'm ready to go fishing," he said.
Outside the podcast, a glimpse into his retirement has been shared through an Instagram post. Lisa Robertson shared a photo of John Godwin relaxing in a pool. She wrote, "Happy Retirement John Godwin! Get ready for some honey-do's! You know Paula Godwin can't let you just sit around eating Bon-bons! Luv u! Thank you for your dedication to Duck Commander!"
He's served the Duck Commander brand faithfully for a very long time, and it's now time for him to take some time for himself and do the things he enjoys.
When asked about his retirement, Godwin said that he's "getting a lot of home stuff done." Housework, such as "Whatever Ms. Paula says," he jokes. Despite being busied around by his "demanding" counterpart, he has managed to relax.
He said that he's gone fishing four of the six past days since his retirement. Lucky guy.
Internet Reacts To 'Duck Dynasty' John Godwin's Retirement
Many hit the comments of both the podcast and the Instagram post to share their thoughts on his deserved retirement.
"Congratulations Godwin! You are a favorite.....hope you will still be on the Duck Call Room! May you have many good years of retirement and stay healthy! Take good care of your beautiful Paula! Both of you together are such special people and a wonderful couple! May God continue to bless you always! Enjoy! It's your time!" gushes one fan.
I'm sure he'll remain on the podcast, as it's an excuse to hang out with his friends and family. He may not attend every episode, as he might be enjoying his retirement a little too much. But I'm sure he won't ditch it completely.
"Congratulations Godwin on your 25 yrs and retirement, good luck in your next adventures. God Bless!" wishes another fan.
"Yay Godwin!! Got his hot tub!! Is it in the front yard too ?" joked one fan, commenting under the photo.
"I don't know John in real life, but I think this picture is the perfect one for this occasion!" writes another, and I have to agree.
