Luke Combs is headlining Bonnarroo on Thursday, June 12, one of only a handful of dates on his calendar this year. For an artist who has been notorious for touring all over the globe, Combs only has nine more dates on the calendar after Bonnaroo, and almost all of them festivals.

His decision to stay off of the road might seem unwise from a professional perspective. But Combs' reason for wanting to be home has nothing to do with his career, but instead his personal life. The Grand Ole Opry member and his wife Nicole are proud parents of sons Tex, who turns three on June 19, and Beau, who will be two in August.
"I want to be home with my kids," Combs explains to People. "I want to see my kids grow up and I want them to know that they're important to me."
Why Luke Combs Is Grateful. To Take A Break From Touring
After Bonnarroo, Combs doesn't have a show on his calendar for more than six weeks, when he plays the Newport Folk Festival on June 26. It's a break Combs admits is a luxury.
"I feel like country music for a long time has been, 'Let's tour every year as hard as we can tour' while it's hot," Combs acknowledges. "But I'm now like, 'Why can't you tour really hard, build a really great fan base, care about them, support them, give them exclusive things, give them great experiences and let them understand that you care about them?'
"And then if you do want some time for you, you can tell them, 'I can't tour this year.,'" he adds. "I wanted to get to the point where I could do that, and it not be career suicide."
Combs' fans don't need to worry that his days of touring are over for good. In fact, the North Carolina native hints that he has a big tour planned for 2026.
"I got a big tour coming next year," Combs hints, in a message shared on social media. "I just kind of finalized a lot of the details on that here in the last week or so. So new record coming up soon, new tour coming up. I'm just excited. ... I'm back doing stuff and being around, and obviously spending time at home."
