Luke Combs has been teasing his new single, "Back In The Saddle", on his Instagram, and today, he just shared that there might be some pretty cool guests featured in the music video dropping this Friday.

Combs revealed that he worked on the song with writers Jonathan Singleton and the Brothers Hunt, who have collaborated on songs from Combs' projects before. The Brothers Hunt have co-written songs of Comb's like "In Case I Ain't Around" and "The Kind of Love We Make". Singleton helped write "Ain't No Love In Olkahoma", which was featured on the soundtrack of the movie Twisters.
The song sounds upbeat and anthemic, which will be a stark contrast from his last album, Father and Sons. Although the project revealed a new level of vulnerability to Combs and allowed him to showcase his songwriting abilities, it wasn't well-received by fans who were looking for more of that party-country sound.
Combs decided to cut back on his touring schedule and music-making to prioritize his family this past year, especially after missing the birth of his son, Beau, while on tour in 2024. However, he has been making appearances at select events, like Lollapalooza this year and Country Thunder.
The Music Video Might Feature Some NASCAR Legends
Combs has been promoting the release of "Back In The Saddle", since late June, but just last night he revealed something special about the song's release. In a collaborative post with NASCAR racers Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Richard Petty, Combs revealed that the "music video will be out with the song this Friday" and that he "can't wait" for people to see it.
Earnhardt and Petty are known for holding the shared record for the most NASCAR Cup Series championships to date, with each of them having won seven titles. Earnhardt, known as "The Intimidator" for his fearless driving style, won many of the titles of the '90s, while Petty dominated in the '60s and '70s.
The photos shared show Combs on a racetrack waving the checkered flag, as well as him standing alongside the NASCAR legends. We don't know precisely what the music video will be, but Combs is giving us subtle hints, and we like what we've seen so far.
One thing's for sure, Combs wants us to know that he's "back in the saddle" with the release of this new song, and we're thrilled to be along for the ride.
