Someone embraced their inner George Jones by driving their lawnmower on the highway in a less-than-sober state.

Commuters in the early hours of Friday (July 18) were shocked to find a Florida man taking his lawnmower out for a stroll. According to FOX 13, the Florida Highway Patrol received calls around 8:30 a.m. to report the dodgy driving on the southbound side of the Suncoast Parkway (SR 589).
Troopers quickly chased down the lawnmower; they caught up with the suspect just south of the exit to U.S. 98. After pulling the driver over, they found Christopher Spain, quite a ways from his lawn.
Traffic cameras caught Spain driving on his lawnmower from Citrus County into Hernando County. The reason for his trip isn't yet known, although it may not be known by Spain himself. When they pulled the George Jones wannabe over, they noticed he was far from sober.
Per the outlet, troopers found Christopher Spain with "several signs of impairment, including small pupils, flushed skin, dry mouth, and visible irritation to the inside of his nose."
While they dealt with him, he sniffed, spat, and cleared his throat. They also found a straw in his back pocket. It was blue, just to show all the others that he's a big, strong, boy.
After he refused to perform any field sobriety tests, troopers arrested Spain on a charge of driving under the inoluence.
George Jones Copycat Bailed From Prison
Jail records show that Christopher Spain was bailed out of custody on Friday after paying a $500 bond.
It is unknown what gear the guy was on, and I suppose we won't know unless he intends to repeat his little expedition.
At least George Jones had some class about being a substance-dependent lawnmower driver. He stuck to the main roads to go to the liquor store instead of going on the highway. Don't get me wrong, both are very dangerous and not recommended, but there is a clear distinction to be made.
I do hope Christopher Spain gets whatever help he needs so this doesn't get repeated. We're lucky no accidents were caused.
