But you probably don't know too much about people in gorilla costumes who allegedly steal shoes. This evidently occurred on Sunday, September 21 in Nashville. More About Nashville's Famed Broadway
You may be more familiar with Broadway in New York than Broadway in Nashville. According to trolleytours.com, Music City's B'way is considered "Nashville's Honky Tonk Highway." The stretch became known as a renowned hub for musicians after Jimmie Rodgers, beloved as the "Father of Country Music" and "The Singing Brakeman," started singing there in the 1930s. It subsequently got to be a lively and colorful destination for other tunesmiths and performers.
Over the years, venues devoted to music sprung up on Broadway, as did bars with music vibes and other tourist attractions. Some of the better-known ones include Riverfront Park, the Ernest Tubb Record Shop, Union Station, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts.
Many country music icons have bars bearing their name on Broadway. Among them, per Country Now, are Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Jason Aldean, and Blake Shelton.
