'Marshals' Star Says He Won't Watch Himself Acting: "I Get Really Self-Conscious"

Luke Grimes has had incredible success playing the role of Kayce Dutton on Yellowstone and Marshals. In fact, he has portrayed the intense, moody character for years. Audiences have embraced Kayce. That is proven by the right-out-of-the-gate popularity of Marshals. The Montana-based drama, a Yellowstone spinoff, debuted on CBS barely two months ago. (There will reportedly be a second season.) Now, people get to see Kayce's evolution as a recent widower, single dad, and new U.S. marshal. However, although viewers love Kayce, Luke Grimes shuns watching himself acting. He stays away from his image on the small screen for a reason.

Grimes Says, "I Won't Watch It"

Luke Grimes does not want to see himself playing Kayce Dutton. Not ever. But why not? He recently told Hey U Guys his rationale for avoiding it. "I know this is sort of like a [expletive] answer, but I don't watch myself. So no, I don't. I won't watch it. Not because I'm too cool to. I get really self conscious and then I feel like it affects the work."

He Is Gearing up for Season 2 Already

With the first season of Marshals winding down, the actor is already getting ready for next season's filming. He shared with Hey U Guys, "They're writing it right now and we start in about a month. We'll start shooting back in Park City and we'll shoot almost to the end of the year."

Grimes Mused About the Departure of Kevin Costner From 'Yellowstone'

The Dances With Wolves icon played patriarch John Dutton on Yellowstone. He was killed off the show when Kevin Costner chose to departed from the drama. Luke Grimes talked about the loss of Costner from the cast with People.

Grimes observed to the outlet, "I think we were all lucky to have Kevin on the show as long as we did. It was always the plan for him to have to go away for the story to really ramp up, and that was the story. You lose a patriarch of the family. Can the kids do it on their own?"

Furthermore, Grimes mentioned, "I think originally he was supposed to die much earlier. So, in a way, they got way more of John Dutton than they were going to originally get. I would keep that in mind."
