Actors can be pretty intense. A lot of them can be incredibly serious about their craft. Even the smallest bit roles require studiousness and care in their eyes. Don't even get them started if they're one of the integral roles. The method actors get the scariest because they really let their imagination of a character take over and they become one with the writing. It's pretty hefty stuff. Apparently, Matthew McConaughey is one of these kinds of actors too. He busted out the tense acting chops on Martha Stewart for one of their commercials together, to the point where she was terrified.

Recently, Stewart spoke on her podcast with Kate Hudson where the pair talked about Matthew McConaughey. Martha's experience with him stems from an Uber Eats Super Bowl Commercial alongside Charli XCX, Kevin Bacon, and Greta Gerwig. The crux of the bit is that football is all a conspiracy to sell people more food. It's a pretty breezy, silly commercial where McConaughey channels ten different characters. Apparently, he takes it super serious and Martha ends up looking at him like a crazed maniac during filming.
Matthew McConaughey's Deranged Method Acting Scares Martha Stewart
Stewart goes on to explain how McConaughey went about pulling this feat off. The way she describes it is pretty strange stuff, especially for a commercial of all things. "There I am, I'm a board member of UberEats and I'm the one who's making the Caesar salad, and Matthew — he had to play many characters in that commercial. He is a method actor, I think," Martha says. "Because he had to play 10 characters, and he got into each character, it takes him about 15 minutes."
Kate Hudson confirms Stewart's experiences on set due to previous working experience on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. She recalls McConaughey making strange sounds and grunts, trying to get himself into the character. Ultimately, Kate jokes to Martha, "You get used to it... after like the first couple of weeks.'
