Megan Moroney Channels Dolly Parton’s Playboy Look for Halloween

Megan Moroney definitely raised a few eyebrows when she donned Dolly Parton's iconic look from her 1978 Playboy magazine cover.

Country music stars had some great Halloween costumes this year. And while we were ready to hand the award to Kane Brown for his Papa Smurf outfit, Megan Moroney might have taken the prize for replicating an iconic look from Dolly Parton.

The "Tennessee Orange" singer put on a pair of black bunny ears, high heels, and a black strapless corset-style bodysuit with the signature bow tie, cuffs, and tail for the holiday. Captioned with "what would @dollyparton do," it's a near-perfect replication of Parton's famous October 1978 Playboy cover.

Fans Loved the Retro Look From Megan Moroney

The 28-year-old Moroney is four years younger than Parton was when she posed for Playboy. Fans loved her take on this celebrated moment from Parton's long and storied career.

One fan said, "The hottest thing a woman can do is be Megan Moroney."

"We could have gone as Kenny and Dolly," wrote Moroney's mentor, Kenny Chesney.

Fellow singer Mackenzie Carpenter added, "So iconic."

Parton actually recreated the look several years ago for her now-deceased husband, Carl.

"Remember, sometime back I said I was going to pose on the Playboy magazine when I was 75? Well, I'm 75 and they don't have a magazine anymore," Parton said in a video. "He still thinks I'm a hot chick after 57 years, and I'm not going to try and talk him out of that. And I hope he agrees. What do you think?"

Dolly Parton Was Afraid To Be on the Cover of "Playboy"

It took some coaxing to get Parton to put on the Playboy Bunny outfit 47 years ago.

"I didn't want to be naked or something on the front of a magazine unless everybody knew it was a joke," she said at the time. "I mean, I wouldn't want to be naked even then. It might not offend me, but I was afraid maybe a lot of my country fans and some of the people who love me who are of a religious nature might not understand."

She added, "Then I thought, it isn't something I should be ashamed of. Playboy's a real classy magazine. And I mean, who else but Dolly Parton should be on the cover of Playboy? If you wanted an outrageous person to be on an outrageous magazine cover, who else? I just hope people will take it in the spirit in which I did it—you know, something cute and off-the-wall for me."
