Megan Moroney Scrapped Her Vacation Just To Perform With This Pop Superstar

It must have been a can't-miss opportunity for Megan Moroney. The "I'm Not Pretty" singer scrapped plans for a vacation to sing with Ed Sheeran, 34, per People. When he beckoned in March, she gladly responded with a "yes." "He wanted me to play the Bluebird Cafe with him in Nashville, and I thought it was a joke," she shared. "I ended up canceling the vacation, because I'm like, 'When Ed Sheeran calls and wants you to play a show with him, you drop everything.'" So she did!

Per the outlet via Rolling Stone, Moroney, 28, used the occasion to unveil her forthcoming single, "Beautiful Things."

The Bluebird Cafe Is Legendary

According to its web site, the venue has an extraordinary history. The most renowned vocalists and songwriters in the music business might show up there at any time. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxed, but it's the hot place to be in Nashville to hear great songs from gifted artists.

Moroney Is a Huge Ed Sheeran Admirer

The two popular singers have a nice mutual admiration society going. Not only does Moroney gush about Sheeran, but he said that his wife Cherry and their two youngsters love her music. "He's just so down to earth, kind and talented, and he was talking to me about how his kids [Lyra Antarctica, 5, and Jupiter, 3] and his wife [Cherry Seaborn] are big fans [of mine]," Moroney said.

The two stay in touch, per the outlet. "We'd email each other and send each other songs back and forth, so it's been really cool to get to know him a little bit. He's just so talented," she added. "It's just really cool to see someone like him, a global superstar, still care about songwriters."

She Seems Open to a Collab With Him

Moroney seems keen to work on something with Sheeran, as long as the track is the "right" one. "I think when the time is right and the song is right, it'll happen, because I'm such a fan of his, and I'm sure his kids would appreciate us having a song together, but it's just got to be the right song."
