Megan Moroney is one of country music's biggest stars right now, but even for someone as successful as Moroney, words can still sting. A popular December TikTok trend is bringing back memories for the country star, and not all of them are good.

This week, Moroney took to social media to get honest with her fans and share an insult that still sticks with her to this day. For Moroney, it was the Whoville trend that brought up a specific memory of an ex-boyfriend telling her she looked like the Grinch during a fight they had.
"Guys, I'm going to be so honest," Moroney shared. "I'm not live, laugh, loving this Whoville trend. It's hitting a little bit too close to home for old girl. So once upon a time, me and my first boyfriend got into a fight, and he told me I looked like the Grinch."
She continued, "The mother******* Grinch. That will stick with you. So yeah, not a fan, but I'm gonna do it for you guys. Because I think he was onto something."
Even though she'd acknowledged that the trend wasn't her favorite thing in the world, Moroney still did it for the fans, and honestly, she ate it up. Personally, though, I don't think the "6 Months Later" singer looks anything like the Grinch.
How Megan Moroney Went From Sorority Girl to Superstardom
Megan Moroney didn't move to Nashville until 2020, but the singer had experiences that shaped her decision to pursue music professionally before then, especially during college. While she was just a freshman at the University of Georgia, Moroney ended up opening for country singer Chase Rice. Apparently, her sorority needed an opener for a panhellenic event they were having, and they couldn't afford to bring anyone else on.
Megan, who posted covers with her dad online, seemed like a decent option to her sorority sisters.
Moroney explained, "For my sorority philanthropy event, we got Jon Langston to come out... The philanthropy girl was like 'oh you sing don't you?' I hadn't played anywhere, but I went up there and performed three cover songs... Chase [Rice] was actually at that show, heard me sing and wanted me to open for him, but he told me I needed original songs."
It was after that that Megan wrote her first original song, "Stay A Memory", and the rest was history.
