Midland Frontman Mark Wystrach’s Wife Has Hilarious Response To Fan Question About “I Wish You Would” Video

Country music has maybe four themes that run through every new song. There are dive bars, having a crush on someone, drinking, and trucks. That's as far as it goes these days, it appears. Midland's track features two of these and has lead singer Wystrach schmoozing up with someone who certainly isn't his wife.

The track in question, called 'I wish you would,' is all about making the first move. It's about those moments that can happen where there is a spark, and someone needs to be brave to get things going. The track was written and performed by Mackenzie Carpenter. She plays it as a duet with the Midland band.

Talking about the new track, she said "I Wish You Would (ft. Midland)" is a fun, flirty tune about wanting someone to be more forward, quit guessing, and make the first move." She continued, "It's about craving a spark with someone and longing for more than a few glances with that person you've noticed from across the bar."

So, when the video dropped, it wasn't surprising to see Carpenter making moves on Mark Wystrach despite him having a wife. In a Q&A session they had after the new video release, one fan had questions.

It's All Just An Act

During the Instagram question session, one fan asked Wystrach's wife if the new video made her sad. But she's his wife, and she knows that it was all just for the screen. "Didn't know about it lol but didn't make me sad. Hope it's a hit. Kinda comedy," she replied.

It appears she was oblivious to the raunchy bar scenes her husband and co-singer had been up to. However, she's not going to let it get to her. It appears Wystrach's wife is secure in their marriage, and as long as the track pulls in enough for another holiday this year, she's more than happy for a few on-screen moon eyes.

The dive bar romance of the video is a little tongue in cheek, as I suspect quite a lot of modern Country is. The constant cliche of trucks, guns, bars, and babes can't be taken too seriously.
