Mike Tyson's fight against Jake Paul was as controversial as it was significant. Everyone wondered why Iron Mike would square up against a YouTuber, but it turns out he was afraid of the alternative.

The legendary boxer sat down to talk on Fox Nation's "Sean" podcast series, where they talked about the fight. Sean Hannity began by asking about Tyson's health before the fight. He had many medical troubles leading up to the fight.
Apparently, however, this was of no concern to Mike Tyson, as his primary fear was being sued.
"You think [the medical issues] weakened you going into the fight?" asked Sean Hannity.
"I haven't thought about that. I was worried about getting sued, you know, because I was like, 'God, they're going to sue me if I don't do this fight,'" he responded.
Unfortunately, Hannity didn't delve deeper into Tyson's fears of getting sued. However, it's likely that Tyson's fears began after his health problems arose once he had already accepted to do the fight. Despite everything he had to deal with, he was worried about getting sued should he back out.
Considering how legally dubious the fight was already, it wouldn't be surprising if Mike Tyson did ever get sued for backing out of the fight. I mean, he shouldn't have accepted the fight in the first place, but what do I know?
Mike Tyson Talks About His Health Problems Leading Up To The Fight
Hannity asked Mike Tyson about his health problems.
Iron Mike said he was suffering from a "bloody ulcer, like three inches. Kept bleeding and bleeding." On top of that, he also had "10 blood transfusions."
Tyson did later share that everything was "fixed" and he doesn't have any health problems anymore, but that's quite the strenuous process to suffer through before a fight.
It is likely that all the turmoil his body was going through weakened him before the fight. After all, he did say that he barely remembered the fight, although he chalked it up to "spiritual stuff."
"The only thing I remember was the first round in the corner," he said upon being asked. "That's all I remember."
He later elaborated that he remembered "nothing else. I wasn't sweating. I wasn't tired."
He concluded, "I think it's some spiritual stuff was happening." Although I think it was because his body was still reeling from all those blood transfusions. But hey, I'm no expert.
