Don't get me wrong, the Cyrus family does have a complex history full of estrangement, feuding, and headlines. Since Billy Ray Cyrus' divorce from Tish Cyrus in 2022, and thanks to his substance issues, the country star dad suffered estrangement from his family.
However, families are complex, and familial bonds tend to repair themselves. Even if two divorced parents want nothing to do with each other, it isn't surprising to see the children of the ex-couple eventually rebuild the bridges with both of their parents.
With the headlines that have been going around lately, you'd think Miley Cyrus has done a 180. With Tish allegedly unfollowing Miley Cyrus on Instagram (sacre bleu!) and Miley meeting her dad, you'd think she'd 'switched sides' in the family drama.
However, it's likely not that dramatic.
Billy Ray Cyrus posted to Instagram a picture of himself, Miley Cyrus, brother Braison Cyrus, and Miley's boyfriend, Maxx Morando. They were celebrating Braison's birthday together. This, combined with Tish apparently unfollowing Miley has caused some speculation.
Miley Cyrus Reconnects With Billy Ray Cyrus After Estrangement
It's long been known that Miley Cyrus and Billy Ray Cyrus have had their issues in the past. However, it seems they're putting that all behind them.
If Billy Ray's recent single "Ask" is anything to go by, it's clear he's trying to turn a new leaf in every aspect in his life. It's likely that behind closed doors, the father and daughter reconnected.
Some online have speculated that this reconnection between them upset Tish, which is what caused her to unfollow her daughter. However, when someone online asked Tish about this, she said that she hadn't stopped following Miley, and that she doesn't know what happened.
Personally, I'm glad that Miley Cyrus is reconnecting with her dad despite his poor conduct in the past. After all, family rifts heal more often than not. Although Billy Ray and Tish may never reconnect like this, it's not looking like they have a problem with their children staying close to both of them.
