I love Miranda Lambert's zest for life. This gal is game for anything. For example, when she was going to play in a celeb golf tournament recently, Lambert worked like crazy to improve her swing. Her revenge songs are peerless and so is she.

Lambert, 41, acknowledged a sweet hobby she enjoys when she was a guest recently on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast. The "Kerosene" singer says she is not very accomplished at it; she just does it for pleasure and the joy she derives from it. That is really the best attitude to have. Per People via The Joe Rogan Experience, Lambert shared that she paints folk art chickens. The Smithsonian defines folk art as "spontaneous, home-grown, non-derivative, and non-academic." It often has an innocence and a homespun quality that enchants.
She freely admitted that she will never be a widely lauded amateur artist. And that is perfectly okay with Lambert.
The Singer Explained Why She Paints
Lambert said, "Even if you're not great at the thing or a thing or if you try a bunch of stuff and you kind of [expletive] at all of it but you are working on it or whatever, there's fulfillment in that. There's an accomplishment. Like I paint folk chickens and I'm terrible at it. Little folk art chickens. I don't even know why. I have no idea why. And they're not good at all." Lambert says that she paints because she finds it, in her words, "cute and fun."
She has no aspirations to be a polished artist. "I'm not going to show anybody. I painted one for my mom [Beverly] 'cause she has to hang it up. She put it in her kitchen. I'm terrible at it and I don't know anything about it, but I would like to learn. I look up YouTube classes or whatever. They're so cute."
She Predicted Her Husband's Reaction to Her Revelation
Lambert guessed how her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, would react to her public revelation about her painting pursuit. "He's like, 'Are you talking about your stupid folk art chickens?' 'Cause I'll just be in there, he's cooking and I'm just like, 'I'm painting my chickens right now.'"
She supposed that McLoughlin was "probably dying out there" because she went public with her hobby.
