"White Liar"

This song from Lambert's 2009 LP, Revolution, cleverly turns the tables on her cheating man - and at their wedding, no less. Per Wide Open Country, Lambert co-wrote it with her pal, Natalie Hemby. Ends up that the narrator is cheating too, with the best man at her nuptials! Nothing makes better raw material for a country song than a nice juicy rural scandal and Lambert takes full advantage. The lyrics are blistering with snide outrage and one-upsmanship. "Hey white liar / Truth comes out a little at a time / And it spreads just lie a fire / Slips off your tongue like turpentine...."

"Kerosene"

Lambert and Ella Langley teamed for this song at the 2025 ACM Awards. Their performance was absolutely sizzling. The two of them commanded the stage with this fiery song, which they did full justice to. The track, per American Songwriter, is "about setting fire to her ex's belongings in the aftermath of a breakup...." It put Lambert's early career on a sharp upward trajectory. On her 2005 freshman LP, it got her a Best Female Country Vocal Performance Grammy nom. "...Forget you high society / I'm soakin' it in kerosene / Light 'em up and watch them burn / Teach them what they need to learn, ha...."

"Mama's Broken Heart"

From Lambert's Four the Record album, this track was co-written by Kacey Musgraves. per Wide Open Country. Lambert wanted it bad. As in real bad. She knew it was perfect for her. And she needed Musgraves' okay to claim it. According to the outlet, Lambert said, "[Kacey] e-mailed me and said, 'You can have it if I can sing harmony.' So that's her singin' the harmonies on it... I had to actually beg for this song, and so I'm thankful that she gave it to me 'cause I love 'Mama's Broken Heart.'"

We love it too! The lyrics are delicious. "...Can't get revenge and keep a spotless reputation / Sometimes revenge is a choice you gotta make / My mama came from a softer generation / Where you get a grip and bite your lip just to save a little face...."

"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend"

This is pure, unadulterated, hissing mad anger at a no-good guy from the master of revenge. It's on Lambert's 2007 album of the same name. The LP was awarded Album of the Year by the ACM. The title song is a doozy. Lambert co-wrote it and it bears her unmistakable imprint. "I started throwing things and I scared folks half to death / I got up in his face and smelled whiskey on his breath / Didn't give a second thought to being thrown in jail / Cause baby, to a hammer, everything looks like a nail / I'm mad as hell,,,,"
