Miranda Lambert Reveals How Nashville Has Changed Husband Brendan McLoughlin

Miranda Lambert and Brendan McLoughlin just celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary. The couple met when Lambert was on Good Morning America, and Loughlin was working as a police officer. A whirlwind romance ensued, and only a few months later, on January 26, the two tied the knot.

Now, Lambert is opening up about what their lives are like, living in rural Tennessee instead of the Big Apple.

"He is very patient and he is very chill," Lambert tells Taste of Country. "He wasn't as chill back then, because he was fresh out of New York City. Like, they just roll. I mean they're hardcore."

"But I think him being in Nashville for the last five years has like — we've kind of met in the middle," she adds

Who Is Brendan McLoughlin

Loughlin was enjoying a good job as a police officer when fate intervened. Born and raised in New York City, he had just become a father when he met the country music superstar.

Lambert, by her own admission, didn't plan to fall for a single dad in NYC. But that didn't stop sparks from flying between the two, from the moment they met.

"It was the most random thing, but it was meant to be," Lambert tells Us Weekly. He's such a great friend and really supportive, but he does his own thing. I [also] got to spend a lot of time in New York. We had an apartment in Soho, and I just got to be a tourist and immerse myself in the city."

Lambert and McLoughlin only dated a short time before saying "I do," but for Lambert, it was long enough.

"I kind of went for it; no risk, no reward. I grew up in a family of first responders with cops and firemen. That gave me trust to begin with. Texas people are very much who they are, like, "Y'all come on in, but if you don't like us, we really don't care." That New York mentality is the same, except they're not as sweet about it. I just felt like the worst that could happen, I've lived through. If it ends, it ends."
