Miranda Lambert had a very special guest join her onstage at a recent event in Nashville. In celebration of her album The Weight Of These Wings going platinum, Lambert sang songs alongside her co-writers.

But the second-to-last guest of the night wasn't just any co-writer. It was Rick Lambert, the man Miranda credits for much of her early drive and inspiration.
"My dad was my very first co-writer I ever had," Lambert told the crowd. "He taught me how to play guitar and he taught me my love of music."
She brought him on stage to sing their song "Greyhound Bound For Nowhere," one of their earliest co-writes together. That tune eventually appeared on her debut record Kerosene.
But Lambert's last-minute decision to bring her dad in clearly made the night. ""I texted my mom last night," Lambert said. "And said, 'Get on Southwest and come to Nashville.'" And so they did.
"Dad and I haven't sang this song together, except by a campfire, in a long time," Lambert told the crowd before launching into the song.
