Samuel Ruddock, a gold medalist member of the Great Britain Cycling Team, shot putter, and sprinter para squad, went missing earlier this month on a trip to Las Vegas.

On his trip to Las Vegas, Ruddock was dropped off at Gold & Silver Pawn Shop by a friend known only as Steve. His Instagram post documenting his trip on the 16th of April was the last time he was seen.

Ruddock's friend, Lucy Earl, told the Guardian of her concerns since his disappearance. "He flew on the 13th. I've got confirmation that he landed. I absolutely know Samuel was in Vegas." But he has been absent since then. "The concerning part is he went silent from the 16th and, because he is such a big presence on social media, people were quite quick to notice."

The mystery deepened when his friends contacted Bungalows Hostel on Las Vegas Boulevard, where Paralympian Ruddock was staying. He had left on April 15th and had not checked out. On further investigation, it appeared he had left a number of his items behind.

It wasn't until the 24th that a missing persons report was made for Paralympian Samuel Ruddock. A full investigation was made.

Samuel Ruddock Is Found Amid A Few Struggles

Thankfully, on the 28th, his friend Lucy Hatton shared that Ruddock had been located. In her story, she posted, "Sam has been found, he is physically well, and we will now work on getting him home safely. It's been a tremendously hard time, and from the bottom of my heart, thank you, everyone. Sam was found because of the volume of noise made and the awareness everyone created."

Samuel Ruddock lives with Cerebral Palsy and is a little unsteady on his feet. This gives many of his friends and family cause for concern.

What actually happened to Samuel Ruddock, causing his disappearance and a missing person investigation, is still unclear. But the guy was in Vegas, and it's known for swallowing a person for a few days. He was most likely on some kind of monumental bender. If and when he decides to open up about it, I fully expect it to be a wild story. But, as they say, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.
