Sometimes people have talents that are largely unknown to the public. For example, many actors can sing. That seems to be the case with Morgan Freeman, 87. On New Year's Eve at Freeman's Ground Zero Blues Club located in Clarksdale, Mississippi, he performed an impromptu duet with Al Green, 78. They sang Green's classic 1972 hit, "Let's Stay Together." It was impressive and super lively. So now we know that Freeman has a splendid set of pipes in addition to being an utterly amazing actor.

A Television Reporter Happened To Be At The Festivities
CNN's Oscar Jimenez Was On Site For The Fun
Per the New York Post, Jimenez managed to interview Freeman during the gala evening. Per the outlet, "Asked about the club's origins, Freeman explained that he decided to create the bar after visiting Clarksdale and finding there were not many blues venues in town." Freeman also said that the mayor told him that such venues just were not in the community at that time. The actor thus saw a need and worked to alleviate it.
So Freeman decisively took matters into his own hands. "...[Y]ou got to to have a blues club. We got to do something. There was a little club called Crossroads, but [there was] no guarantee that it would be up and running on Friday night or something. So we built this."

Ground Zero features "live music four nights a week," and Morgan Freeman was instrumental in bringing that to the town. Bravo to him for being such a culturally-minded visionary and for making a difference!
