Morgan Wallen Causes an Uproar by Abruptly & Bizarrely Walking Out of SNL

Morgan Wallen rubs people the wrong way after a strange, sudden exit from Saturday Night Live. Recently, he was the musical guest on SNL to promote his upcoming album I'm The Problem. The show closes with the special guest host Mikey Madison signing off after the evening's sketches and performances. Morgan briefly acknowledges Madison and gives her a one-armed hug, typical of anyone on the show.

However, what's particularly odd is what happens afterwards. Rather than loiter and engage with any of the other SNL cast members, Wallen gets out of Dodge by walking right past the front camera off the stage before disappearing. Members of the cast couldn't help but notice too. Kenan Thompson in particular seemed amused and confused by such an abrupt departure.

At the very least, it certainly makes Wallen seem incredibly standoff-ish. At worst, it reawakens his litany of controversies, usually his drunken stupors of throwing chairs off bars and using racial slurs. Regardless, Morgan kind of seems like a prick to the rest of the world. To make matters worse, Wallen posts a picture on his Instagram story, where he's on his private jet, pleading to "get me to God's country."

Morgan Wallen Stirs Up Controversy After Abrupt SNL Departure

TMZ reports one of their sources saying that this was completely an accident from Morgan and he didn't mean anything by it. Moreover, the outlet tries to clarify the strange walkout from Wallen. "We're told he entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show," they say. "So he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go."

I don't know that I'm buying this from Wallen and his team. I don't know any guest that's pulled this stunt so obviously on SNL in the past. It feels either oblivious and dumb or rude and icky. Additionally, what in the world could he have possibly meant by 'get me to God's country' anyway? This whole debacle baffles me and it certainly rubs people the wrong way too. Take this Twitter user, who quips, "Morgan Wallen realized he had to share the stage with gay and black people and got scared."
