University of Alabama Student Set To Open for Blake Shelton in Tuscaloosa

You would assume that the opening act for a star as notable as Blake Shelton would be a well-established artist. When the "Sangria" singer performs at Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater in Tuscaloosa on Friday, his opener won't yet be a household name, but he sure is a talented and accomplished go-getter. It will be Myles Morgan, a sophomore at the University of Alabama.

Per al.com via a press release from the University, "As a kid from Alabama and a student at The University of Alabama, it's truly an honor to go from playing restaurants and bars in Tuscaloosa a year ago to playing a show at Mercedes-Benz Amphitheater with Blake Shelton." Morgan shared.

He added, "It's all God. Getting to do it on Tennessee weekend just makes it that much sweeter — Roll Tide."

Myles Morgan Already Has a Solid Career Going

Morgan resembles a young Morgan Wallen and probably would like to achieve similar stature in the music world. (Wallen's lead guitarist, Dominic Frost, backs Morgan.] According to his web site, Morgan has some impressive music credentials already. He has upcoming dates on his I Still Got It tour, merch to boost his brand, and a bunch of snappy credentials.

A Birmingham native, Morgan loved to play baseball. Then he fell in love with music and zeroed in on that. Singing and strumming became his keen new focus. Morgan played local gigs at Gulf Coast bars and restaurants and kept on making music at the University of Alabama. He honed his craft further at bars and parties.

He Dropped His First Single Last Year

In 2024, Morgan had his first single come out, "Nobody's Fault But Yours." It got more than one mil;ion streams. He has appeared at Iron City Birmingham, Soul Kitchen Music Hall, and this year's CMA Fest, when he brought his unique country sound to Losers.

Morgan also played at Barefoot Country Music Fest in New Jersey and Carolina Country Music Festival in South Carolina. Two months ago, Morgan was Miranda Lambert's opening act, as well as at Sand Mountain Amphitheater for Muscadine Bloodline.

Myles Morgan is clearly someone to watch on the country music scene!
