A NASCAR pitcrew member heroically saved a beloved Fox Sports race reporter after a 4,000 pound cart started hurtling toward her. As reported by the Daily Mail, the incident happened during a qualifying session in Dover, Delaware.
Crew member Donovan Williams, who was working as a tire changer, had noticed the pit cart hurtling toward Amanda Busick. He leapt into action, putting himself between Busick and the weight of the cart.
Amanda Busick recalled the heroic incident in a statement to The Athletic. "You see it all happening in slow motion, but super-fast. I could see the cart coming. I could see, who I now know is Donovan Williams, trying to brace the cart, but it just had so much speed. There was no way that he could keep up with it."
Williams ended up being hospitalised with some minor injuries. These included a deep laceration to the right buttock, as well as severe road rash in his right hand. But, luckily, Williams is expected to make a full recovery - he is still able to walk, and has no broken bones.
Busick is also mostly uninjured, however she did suffer a hyperextended knee and a few minor cuts and bruises. She decided to keep on reporting about the truck race.

The NASCAR Worker Recalled Saving Busick's Life
The NASCAR pit worker recalled what happened. Williams explained, "What happened was really traumatic, definitely one of the scariest moments of my life. Just because I didn't know exactly what the outcome was."
He continued, "When I was there after all the chaos kind of settled, I definitely felt some of the worst pain I'd ever felt."
Many people branded him a "hero", but he said that he only "reacted in the situation." He added, "I'm just feeling very, very blessed because that was a situation that could have been a lot worse if it had hit me a couple inches in any other direction."
In a heartwarming moment, Busick visited Williams in the hospital, where they gave each other "a big hug".
We are so glad everyone is okay. Williams is an absolute hero, even if he doesn't want to recognise himself as such!
