NBA Players Share Photos of Their Food Inside The Bubble And Its Less Than Desirable

What a world we live in! Live sports (aside from the UFC) have all been paused due to the coronavirus pandemic in the United States. Slowly, sports are starting to implement plans to get back on track, and recently NBA players have started to travel to Orlando, Florida, and entered the NBA Bubble at Walt Disney World's ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. There, players will quarantine from the general public for up to four months, pending how far they get in the tournament. On July 7, players began arriving at the compound to quarantine completely isolated in their hotel rooms. Not allowed to leave their rooms, NBA players were delivered food, and according to some photos shared on social media, the NBA bubble food is less than desirable.

NBA Players Share Photos of Food in the Bubble

Troy Daniels of the Denver Nuggets is one of the players documenting the entire experience. Served in a bag, Daniels showed off his first meal, complete with a wide array of food options. Almost mimicking airline food, the bubble meal consisted of a salad of fresh garden greens, arugula, watermelon, pickled red onions, goat cheese, and raspberry vinaigrette, followed by a tomato and mozzarella Caprese salad, Italian grilled chicken with natural jus, white fish with tomato and dill topping, parmesan polenta with sundried tomatoes, and pasta with impossible bolognese sauce accompanied with roasted summer vegetables. Chris Chiozza of the Brooklyn Nets was also one of the players who shared his plate on social media.

Some commented on social media the food reminded them of the meals that were served at the Fyre Festival.

Others, including Isaiah Thomas, who was previously a player on the Boston Celtics, joked that Lebron James would never eat these airline trays of food. At the time of the post, Lebron James posted a photo of tacos with the caption, "Taco Tuesday". The Lakers are reportedly entering the NBA bubble today, July 9.

Thankfully for NBA teams in the Orlando bubble, the self-isolation is only for two days, and afterward, players can expect player meals to no longer look like airplane food, according to Marc Stein.

The NBA shared the following statement as well:

"After clearing quarantine, players will also have access to various restaurants on campus and delivery options to choose from. Players will receive three meals a day and four meals on gamedays. There is never a shortage of food options - players can always request additional food by speaking with their team nutritionists."

Players can even hire a private chef located off the bubble to prepare and send food into the NBA Campus on a daily basis.

It'll be interesting to see how the cuisine changes in the next few days.
