Netflix has ordered a second season of Ransom Canyon, the romantic drama set in the heart of Texas Hill Country. The streamer confirmed the renewal Tuesday, giving fans reason to celebrate just two months after the show's April debut.

Josh Duhamel and Minka Kelly will reprise their roles as rancher Staten Kirkland and dance hall owner Quinn O'Grady. The characters' complicated romance, rooted in longtime friendship, anchored the first season. That tension is set to return, and possibly escalate, as Season 2 unfolds.
Netflix Drops Hints
Netflix teased the next chapter with a brief synopsis: "As the battle to save Ransom wages on, a mysterious cowboy drifts into town, dredging up secrets from the past. Vise tightening, Staten fights to protect the land he calls home -- and the only love that can pull him back from the demons that haunt him."
Ransom Canyon is based on the bestselling novels by Jodi Thomas and developed for television by showrunner April Blair. The story blends small-town drama, family conflict, and slow-burning romance in a rustic West Texas setting.
"I couldn't be happier that Netflix is ready to get back in the saddle," Blair said in a statement. "Our dreamy little corner of Texas Hill Country is full of stories still untold, and we can't wait to bring them to our incredible fans. Get ready for another ride."
Season 2 Details
Season 2 will likely pick up six months after the Season 1 finale. In that final episode, Quinn accepted a job in New York City, putting her relationship with Staten on pause. Blair told TV Insider that the time jump allows the story to move forward without shifting the show's focus away from Ransom.
"Quinn needs to go away and save her ranch," Blair said. "We also need to see the fallout from that punch Davis goads Staten into, and where that leaves the plot between Davis and Staten's father, the senator."
Production will take place at Netflix Studios Albuquerque in New Mexico. The studio plans to reduce the show's carbon footprint by using solar power, geothermal systems, and other sustainable methods.
James Brolin, Eoin Macken, Lizzy Greene, Andrew Liner, Garrett Wareing, Jack Schumacher, and Marianly Tejada will also return for Season 2.
Ransom Canyon quickly gained traction following its spring release, drawing viewers in with its mix of sweeping landscapes, tangled romances, and old secrets. With the renewal now official, fans can expect even more drama (and possibly more heartbreak) when the series returns.
