Not only do I think it is incredible that they work under immense pressure, such as having to complete orders quickly or carrying stacks and stacks of dishes, but they also have to work with the public. Let's face it, the public is not always the nicest. This video proves that fact, although I will be honest it is not something that I expected a waitress to have to deal with. Waitress Confronts Customer Who Stole Her Tips
I know what you are thinking. Maybe they didn't mean to steal the tips. Maybe the money fell on the floor and it was a misunderstanding. At least that is what I chose to believe at first, because I don't like to think that someone intentionally steals another's hard-earned cash. Then, when I made peace with the fact that it was intentional, I assumed it would be a young kid.
Surely it would have to be a teenager, because no one with years of life experience and wisdom would. do this to another person. So imagine my surprise when the culprit was revealed to be an old man. Yup...an elderly man apparently went to this waitress's table and stole her tips right off of the table, before pocketing them.
Luckily for her, and unluckily for him, she caught him in the act. While none of the other waitresses wanted to make a scene, they encouraged the woman to go and collect her money. She confronted the gentleman, in a polite yet firm manner. She told him that she saw him take the money off of the table. Then she said, "That's my tip that I made off that table so I don't feel comfortable serving you until I get that back."
From there, the man reached into his pocket and handed her two dollars. While the waitress thanked the man for returning her money, she admits that she does not think that was the full tip. Additionally, as this waitress confronts the customer who stole her tips, she learns that this is not his first rodeo. A co-worker shared with her that this gentleman and his wife have walked out on her before without paying.

The internet has had a very supportive reaction as the waitress confronts the customer who stole her tips. In fact, they believe that further action should be taken against this gentleman, regardless of his age. On her TikTok the waitress, named Brittany, gave some more details surrounding the issue.
She explains how she saw the elderly man visit other tables as well, but she was unsure if he took money from those tables. She also admits that she thought the man did not return her full tip to her, and that that is a huge problem for her. Not only because it is ethically wrong, but because she only makes $4.86 an hour, so she relies on tips to feed her children.
