Jean Powell, 85, and Gillian Hemming, 80, found out the heartbreaking news over the phone. His passing, which was last Tuesday in his home, left the two sisters talking all night about their 'crazy' brother.
Ozzy Osbourne's Sister Speaks On His Passing
Jean Powell spoke with The Mirror after her brother's passing. During the conversation, she divulged that the last time the two were in contact was during his July 5th show.
While the two were unable to chat much in person, they did exchange some texts, as siblings often do. The contents of the texts only make your heart break more for his passing.
Jean said of the texts, "He said he couldn't believe all the crowds were walking down our old street to watch him perform, he was blown away."
I mean, what type of humility does Ozzy have to have to create this song
And still be surprised that people want to come out and see you! Truly an inspiration to everyone.
The Pair Of Sisters Misses Their Brother
Jean then revealed that she and her sister thought, "it [was] crazy to see the outpouring of love since his death was announced."
She then added, "We just can't believe he is gone and we won't be getting another phone call or text from him, every week without fail he would get in touch, either by phone or text, to ask how we were all doing and what was going on."
Stupid cute that the three of them would check in weekly. I swear, the more I hear about Ozzy, the more impressed I am by him. He is such a stand-up guy for a superstar of that magnitude.
Even though he was frail in his final weeks, the sisters were still shocked to hear of Ozzy Osbourne's death. Which makes sense with how frequently it sounds like all three checked in with each other.
It makes this writer incredibly happy to hear that he was surrounded by people who loved him so deeply in his final moments.
