Back in 2003, when The Chicks were still called The Dixie Chicks, they did something that made the USA mad, and Pamela Anderson apparently got attacked by one man as a consequence.

Speaking about the case of mistaken identity, Pamela Anderson told of her close call with a small-minded moron on a plane. "This one time, I was on a flight and this guy came up to me and said, 'Do you know what this country's done for you?" she told the Happy Sad Confused podcast. "And I was like, 'Oh, my God. What have I done?"
According to Anderson, as the flight continued, the strange man continued glowering, making her fear being attacked. He sat in his chair, snarling, and grinding his teeth like some kind of rabid dog. Eventually, he was restrained in his chair by the stewardess. Unable to correctly identify her as Pamala Anderson, or control himself, the man had to be handcuffed to the chair before he attacked her.
It turns out that this man thought she was a member of The Chicks. Somehow unable to identify one blonde woman from another, he was furious about the political statement he thought Pamela Anderson had made.
Man Attacked Pamela Anderson Over Dixie Chicks Politics
Back in 2003, The Chicks caused outrage, being canceled from country music stations, and inciting fury among proud Americans. They had made a stand against George W. Bush's invasion of Iraq. Natalie Maines, lead singer, spoke out during her concert in London. "Just so you know, we're on the good side with y'all. We do not want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas," she said.
Consequently, that was the end of The Chicks for some listeners. So it was this that led to Pamela Anderson being attacked on a plane by the incensed man. According to her, the whole situation left her rattled. She told the podcast that she was a little nervous to fly after that.
It's a strange kind of madness that drives a grown man to attack a young woman publically over politics. I hope he got his just deserts.
