On Wednesday, Muldoon Zappa posted a video on Instagram showing her brother visiting an art exhibition just one day before his passing.

"This was the last video my brother sent to our constant family group chat — from Sat night at LACMA opening," the caption read.

In the clip, Muldoon films himself walking through the gallery, casually panning the camera across several paintings.

"As always, he jokes... and yet profoundly brings all things into one moment- the joke-ster, the artist, the football player, and the intensely spiritually connected, Jesuit educated, incredible being that is Patrick Muldoon," the caption continued.

"My best friend. The best brother / son/ uncle/ anyone could ever possibly ask for."

Muldoon Zappa added that details surrounding his funeral and a celebration of life will be shared at a later date. This is as the family continues to come to terms with the loss.

She wrote that they are still "processing" his death, before concluding, "I continue to speak of him in present tense. Because his spirit is all around me. He just changed forms."

Final Hours and Career Remembered

Following his passing, Muldoon Zappa also shared details of the tragic incident with TMZ.

She said her brother had been at home in Beverly Hills on Sunday morning. He was drinking coffee with his girlfriend before heading to take a shower.

"His girlfriend decided to check on him after he was taking too long and found him unconscious on the bathroom floor, Shanna said," the report stated.

"Paramedics rushed over and tried to revive Patrick, according to Shana, but there was nothing anyone could do."

Muldoon rose to fame as Austin Reed on Days of Our Lives from 1992 to 1995, later reprising the role between 2011 and 2012.

He also became widely known for playing villain Richard Hart on Melrose Place across seasons three to five.

On the big screen, he appeared in films including the 1997 sci-fi hit Starship Troopers, where he played Zander Barcalow.

His upcoming project, Dirty Hands, a crime thriller, is set for release later in 2026.

Most recently, he had been attached as an executive producer on Kockroach, starring Chris Hemsworth, Taron Egerton, and Zazie Beetz, which remains in production.
