Patriotic Hat Becomes Source Of Feud Between Brother And Sister: "Take It Off"

Yeah, this is an obvious Reddit classic. I bet I'd be hard-pressed to find anyone out there who hasn't had this experience before. A brother showing up to his nephew's Little League game with a patriotic and profane hat. I mean, we've all done it. None of us hasn't been there. I've got my floral Auburn hat that goes with me everywhere I go. (Until one of my sisters tells me it's not classy enough for this steakhouse. Boo.) Let's see how these two siblings handled it.

Not A Fan Of Funny Hats?

This story was originally posted to the Reddit forum 'Am I the A-Hole'. It's a subreddit that is full of exactly the type of stories you'd expect to find there. People who just gotta know if stuffing their niece's face in her cake was the wrong move.

This story is a pretty cut and dry one in my opinion, but I'll provide the post and y'all can tell me what you think:

"So my 30 year old brother shows up to my son's 12 year old little league game with a trucker's hat [that] says 'America F@ck Yeah'. I asked him to take it off since there were kids all over and lots of people there I know. He protested and I said it was embarrassing. He left and walked back to the car. I said 'it's the hat, not you'. AITA or should a grown man know better than to wear that to a family friendly place?"

Is He In The Wrong?

Already I've got a couple of things. First and foremost, that's an objectively funny/awesome hat. I don't currently own one, but boy am I close.

However, I do see the other side to this story. Maybe a hat that has one of the worst swear words on it isn't awesome for a Little League setting. But just so we're clear, half those kids have definitely already said that word. And the other half have heard it.

But apparently, I'm alone in this opinion because the redditors clearly think that hat had no place on a baseball field.

"it was inappropriate. He needs to grow up." Commented one annoyed redditor. A more eloquent one stated, "He's free to wear what he wants, but you're also allowed to ask for respect in a family setting."

I don't really know the right answer to this question. But what I do know is I need to find where that hat's sold.
