Adam Chaffins has called performing with Lee Ann Womack when opening for Alan Jackson's Farewell Tour the "highlight" of his sideman career.

I recently had the pleasure of talking to Adam Chaffins, who released his Trailer Trash EP yesterday. I'm a huge fan of the EP, especially the tune "Dive Bar Moses."

Aside from talking about Trailer Trash, however, we spoke about what remains a permanent peak of his career. He performed with the legendary Lee Ann Womack when she opened for the legendary Alan Jackson.

"I had the privilege recently, actually, to do some shows with Lee Ann Womack," he recalled.

"Lee Ann is just a hero," he said before gushing about her. Womack is one of his favorite singers, performers, songwriters, and he finds her an "all around bada--."

As much as I'm a fan of Adam Chaffins, I never knew he'd opened for Alan Jackson in his final stretch of performances. There's being good at what you do, then being 'opened for Alan Jackson' good.

Adam Chaffins Dropped Everything To Work With Lee Ann Womack

"It was just an amazing experience," he continued to recall. "A full circle moment, to be playing with an icon like that on stage for another icon."

The best part of the opportunity, however, was that he already knew all of the material. "I already know all these songs," he explained. "When you get the call, usually the hardest thing is learning the material for something."

But this time, he already knew he was "ready to go."

"You called the right guy. I know all these songs, in and out," he laughed.

"So that was really a peak of the mountain experience for me. I hadn't really done a lot of playing with other people in years. But when Lee Ann calls you and says 'Hey, will you be on stage with me,' in any capacity, 'Yes' comes out before any other questions," he said. "Let me move my calendar for whenever you need it to."

To sum up, performing with Lee Ann Womack on Alan Jackson's Farewell Tour, even for a couple of nights, was "super cool" and an "incredible experience."

"Any time Lee Ann wants to do a show, [if] she's reading, call me Lee Ann, I'm there."
