Dill Pickle Pizza Exists and Where to Find It

If there is one food we can't get enough of at Wide Open Eats, its pickles. Pickle slices, pickle chips, pickle beer, and pickle and peanut butter sandwiches. I personally love pickles on everything and it seems like QC Pizza, Minnesota's first and only Quad City Pizza joint feels the same way. Earlier this year, the pizzeria caused controversy online due to it's Big Dill Pizza, a pickle pizza loaded with garlic-dill sauce, Canadian bacon, shredded mozzarella cheese, and loads of dill pickle slices.

And now it's available nationwide.

What is Dill Pickle Pizza?

Inspired by 'Minnesota Sushi', a Minnesota snack comprised of a pickle spear covered in cream cheese and wrapped in ham, the Big Dill Pizza is best served with a side of yellow mustard. Is this the type of pizza you'd normally find at an Italian restaurant or pizzeria? Not a chance, but that's what makes this pizza recipe so fun.

Where To Find It

The pizza is available to order on Goldbelly, an online retailer that specializes in regional cuisine. Grab some authentic tamales from Texas, a dozen bagels from the heart of Manhattan, even Philly cheesesteak from Philadelphia. For $99, you'll receive 3 frozen pre-made pickle pizzas. Simply preheat oven to 500F and bake for 12-15 minutes before enjoying it. With a total time that low and pickles galore, this pizza is more than worth it.

Rhino's Pizzeria in Upstate New York also sells their own version of the pie, complete with garlic sauce and a topping of fresh dill.

Away From the Box

In this recipe, garlic pizza sauce (a mixture of garlic, Italian seasoning, half & half, and parmesan cheese) is used as the base while mozzarella cheese, pickle slices, and fresh dill weed are added. The pizza is baked until golden brown.

Loaded with ranch dressing, this is finished with hot sauce. You'll totally want to pair this pie with a light beer.
