An investigation was launched into what led to Snider's death, and now, the authorities believe they've reached a conclusion. Police reviewed surveillance footage from Snider's hotel on the night he was allegedly assaulted, concluding that his injuries were likely self-inflicted, most likely from an accidental fall.

"A hotel staff member also told police that Snider was not injured when he passed through the lobby, but that the singer was "swaying and walking slightly off balance," Fox 13 Salt Lake City has reported.

The investigation also included speaking with witnesses and band members who were with or near Snider on the night of the alleged assault. However, no one was able to verify if the incident actually occurred.

"At this time, we are unable to confirm that an assault occurred on the tour bus," The police report noted. "Due to all the reported actions above, it is likely that Todd may have fallen on the tour bus and struck his head, causing the injury."

Police Bodycam Footage Shows Todd Snider at the Time of His Arrest

In the police bodycam footage of Snider's arrest, which was obtained by Fox13, the country singer can be seen telling the police he'd been mugged and wasn't homeless.

"See the staples in my head? I got mugged and I got turned away from the hospital," Snider said. "...I need a bed. I'm sick. Where can I stay? I'm not homeless. I'm from Nashville. I have a band. I'm famous. My band ditched me. I need my lawyer here. I'm not a bad person... I just need help. I'm sick."

Snider passed away at his Tennessee home less than two weeks later. Furthermore, his injuries will be recorded as self-inflicted. Unfortunately, the world has lost another country music great. There is currently no information on when (or where) his funeral or the service will take place.
