The news came as a surprise to fans, and to the hosts themselves. Sherrod shared that she and Jackson learned of the decision shortly after returning from a family trip overseas.

"Mike and I just landed back in the States after an unforgettable family trip through the Mediterranean," she wrote, "and we're met with unexpected news: HGTV has decided not to move forward with Married to Real Estate."

HGTV Hosts Respond With Grace

While disappointed, Sherrod focused her message on gratitude. She thanked their crew, fans, and supporters, and emphasized that their work as real estate professionals continues.

"We are deeply grateful," she wrote. "Grateful for four incredible seasons. Grateful for our amazing crew and supportive fans, that our businesses continue to thrive. And most of all grateful that we are still very much married to real estate (and to each other)."

Sherrod hinted at a deeper story behind the cancellation, saying she had "more to say" in the future. But she ended her message with hope.

"Some blessings show up in disguise," she said. "We've been here before. Keep counting those blessings and keep it moving. Stay tuned."

In the caption of her post, she added, "Sometimes GOD will rip you out of a situation to set you up for your next!"

Jackson echoed her sentiments in the comment section.

"God makes no mistakes. However, people and opinions do," he wrote. "We'll discuss that on a later date though. We thank all the FAMS for rocking with us through it all ... appreciate the love and support. We're not done."

Fans and Colleagues React

The cancellation sparked swift reaction from HGTV personalities and fans alike. Rock the Block star Ty Pennington expressed shock in a comment on the post.

"You know, in general I thought I had decent gauge about what TV executives wanted and the last few years have completely shattered that," Pennington wrote. "Seriously shocked to hear this! Ya'll are true professionals and I especially loved the designs from the last season. Keep doing you. Onward and upward!"

Married to Real Estate followed Sherrod, a real estate broker and interior designer, and Jackson, a builder and contractor, as they transformed homes across Atlanta. The couple combined expertise and personality to create spaces that balanced style with practicality for homebuyers.

Though the show is ending, Sherrod and Jackson made it clear: their story isn't over.
