Post Malone was already enjoying a wildly successful career as a rapper and hip-hop star when he made the switch to country music. The 29-year-old released his 18-track F-1 Trillion album in August. The record features 18 songs, and collaborations with iconic artists like Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, Tim McGraw, Dolly Parton, and more. While it might seem like a departure to some, Post Malone grew up listening to country music and has been a fan for years, evident by the two artists he listened to the most in 2024.

Post Malone also dropped F-1 Trillion: Long Bed extended track listing, nine more songs with titles like "Dead at the Honky Tonk" and "Back to Texas." His country album might have been a surprise to some. Still, he was teasing it for a long time before announcing the record. In 2022, he shared on Howard Stern's SiriusXM radio show that he was interested in making a country album someday.
"To be honest, there's nothing stopping me from taking a camera or setting up in my studio in Utah. And just recording a country album, and me just putting it on f-king YouTube," Malone said at the time. "I'm allowed to do that... I split my time between a lot of different things. Because I am happily obligated to do concerts and show love to my fans. ... And then I'm happily obligated to write music, and make beats by myself. And, I'm happily obligated to take care of my family. So, it's a lot of time, and it's about finding that space to allot that time. If I get another year to myself, maybe I'll make a f--king country album."
Post Malone further cemented his place in country music when he made his Grand Ole Opry debut. Brad Paisley surprised him with the invitation.
