'Power Rangers' Star Dave Mallow Dies At 76

Dave Mallow, the voice actor best known for voicing Baboo on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, has died at 76. He passed away on Tuesday, March 11, after being in hospice care, TMZ reported. Mallow had been living at MonteCedro Senior Living Community in Altadena, California.

Mallow voiced many characters in Power Rangers, including Pudgy Pig and Terror Blossom. He also lent his voice to several Digimon characters and appeared in video games like World of Warcraft: Legion, Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition, and Diablo III.

Mallow started his career as a radio personality. He worked in the Midwest and New York City for 12 years. In 1984, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue voice acting.

The Morphin' Legacy Instagram page shared news of Mallow's death on March 12. The post included a tribute to his many roles.

Mallow Remembered

"It is with a heavy heart that we report; Iconic #PowerRangers Voice Actor, Dave Mallow, has passed away," the caption read. "Dave was best known for his roles in #MightyMorphin, voicing such iconic monsters as Pudgy Pig, Lizzinator, Terror Blossom, Beamcaster, and more. He was also the voice of the beloved Baboo. He provided voices for many monsters from Turbo through Wild Force."

Fans flooded the comments to share their memories. "He was great voicing monsters throughout the 1st Saban era. RIP Mr. Mallow," one fan wrote. Another said, "For whatever reason, I always loved Pudgy Pig ... Rest in Peace, Baboo." Others shared similar tributes, like, "Pudgy Pig was always a favorite villain of mine. RIP and thank you for the memories."

Mallow's passing has left a void for those who grew up with Power Rangers. His voice work will certainly continue to resonate with fans for years to come.

He is survived by his sister, who also reportedly also lives in Altadena, California.
