Although details have not yet been revealed, the actor is known to have struggled with drug usage in the past. This led to a suicide attempt in 1996. Greene struggled with addictions to cocaine and heroin and was arrested for possession of cocaine in 2007. He did, however, seek treatment in the late 90s, after film director Jordan Alan put him through rehab.

Gregg Edwards, who managed Greene and considered him a close friend for over a decade, described Greene as a "terrific guy." He spoke highly of Greene, calling him "one of the great actors of our generation."

The Life of Peter Greene

Peter Greene was born on October 8, 1965, in Montclair, New Jersey. However, his story began when he ran away from home at 15 to pursue a career in New York City. In his mid-20s, he got serious about acting while training at the Lee Strasberg studio in New York. In 1994, he earned a reputation as a skilled character actor for starring in The Mask alongside Jim Carrey and Cameron Diaz.

Later that year, he would take on the role of Zed in Pulp Fiction, a sadistic security guard. His ability to play villains was unparalleled, but in his personal life, Greene was also known for his kindness. "His heart was as big as there was," Edwards said of Greene. "I'm going to miss him. He was a great friend."

Peter's manager also spoke on some of the more recent projects that Greene was working on before he passed. One of these included a documentary titled, From the American People: The Withdrawal of USAID. The film raises awareness on the effects of the dismantling of USAID, which Greene was passionate about.

"The best way to honor him would be to help him spread the word about what is happening," Edwards shared in a GoFundMe post.
