BigXthaPlug Reveals Why He’s Glad Morgan Wallen Wasn’t on His Country Project, Although It “Might’ve Went Crazier” if He Was

Big X reveals why he's glad Morgan Wallen ended up not being on his country project. Here's why he chose Bailey Zimmerman instead.

In April of 2025, rapper BigXthaPlug and country singer Bailey Zimmerman dropped their song "All the Way." The song has since debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on the Country Chart. Before ever collaborating, Zimmerman mentioned how he was a big fan of X. However, the rapper revealed that Zimmerman wasn't supposed to be the collaborator on that song. It was supposed to be Morgan Wallen.

In an interview with Billboard, he shared, "Morgan Wallen was actually supposed to be where Bailey Zimmerman was...on the 'All The Way' song." X mentioned that, "He had some stuff happening at the time, so it just wasn't the right time."

Big X admitted, although the song "might've went crazier than it did" with Morgan Wallen, he's happy with what happened. "It wouldn't have went crazy because of me. Morgan Wallen is one of the biggest country artists in the world, so that kind of would have been on his shoulders more than it was mine."

"I kind of feel like with me and Bailey doing it together, it equaled out, like we helped each other. We got to see each other rise from that song."

Big X and Bailey Zimmerman Decided To Go All the Way

Even though we're glad the collaboration happened the way it did, neither Bailey Zimmerman nor Big X was expecting it. In an interview, Zimmerman said he'd heard about him creating a country EP, and was immediately intrigued. "I was up in my studio one night, and I had heard that BigX was doing a country project, and I said, 'Man, dude, how cool would it be to do a song with BigX? I would love to do that one day."

Little did he know, Big X would reach out to him a few short months later. After hearing X out and listening to the song, Zimmerman knew he wanted to cut it. A TikTok later, fans were freaking out about the song online. "They loved it. He was like, 'Dude, I love this song, ' and then he just randomly posted it...Nobody knew he was gonna post it...Now, we're here."

Big X's country EP, which has now evolved into a full album titled I Hope You're Happy, has just dropped, featuring collaborations with Jelly Roll, Ella Langley, Luke Combs, and many more. The rapper was just getting started with "All The Way," and we can't wait to hear what he's been cooking since then.
