Yet another artist is stepping into country music, although this one has lots of connections already with the country world.

Famous rapper BigXthaPlug attended the iHeartRadio Music Awards and got chatting to Billboard. There, he spoke on the connections he already has in country, and how he'd handle the inevitable flack from country purists.
He was previously seen in a studio with the likes of Post Malone and Ernest, so we know he's legit.
"Why not go into country where I know I got a lot of support?" he said. Apparently, he's close with Shaboozey, who he keeps in touch with "almost every other day."
He also name drops Morgan Wallen and Post Malone as country contacts.
"We've been working already, so let's put it in a project, and see what we can do," BigX continued. We know he's been in the studio with Post Malone, but this could suggest that he's also been working with Morgan Wallen.
When pressed on his apparent country projects with these artists, he answered, "it's coming, for sure." So it looks like we'll get some country from BigXthaPlug sooner rather than later.
BigXthaPlug Speaks On Inevitable Hate He'll Receive
It's a non-country artist wading into country, so he'll naturally receive lots of hate and pushback from the community, just like Beyoncé did.
However, BigX is prepared for this, and offers a new perspective to the naysayers.
He reminds everyone that there is a difference between being a "hip-hop" singer or a "rapper," and someone being an "artist." He elaborates that an artist will try their hands at creating different things.
"You can't just hold [artists] in one lane," he explained. "It's like telling a painter [that] he can only paint red apples. Brother, he's an artist, he's gonna paint a lot of different things."
And that's a pretty fresh perspective. You may not enjoy what he produces, but you can't hate him for doing what he enjoys, which is creating music.
"Of course there's gonna be some hate about it," he concluded. "But you can't hate it if it sounds good."
I personally can't wait to see what he's been cooking up.
