Rascal Flatts Concert Evacuated Over Security Concerns

Country group Rascal Flatts were forced to evacuate their concert near Indianapolis, Ind. last night (Aug. 9) over a possible security threat.

According to the Tennessean, the show at Ruoff Home Mortgage Music Center in Noblesville, Ind. was cut short before an expected encore. Videos shot from the crowd show the band's backing band suddenly leaving the stage. Many in attendance were frustrated that the band did not play some of their biggest hits, including "Bless the Broken Road."

"Everyone boo'd," concert attendee Britni Sherlock told IndyStar. "We continued to wait in the pavilion, and that's when security came up to everyone and told us to leave. I asked what was going on and he replied, 'We were told to evacuate the pavilion immediately.'"

It's currently unclear what exactly prompted venue officials and the band to cut the show short. Hamilton County Sheriff's spokesman Bryant Orem told IndyStar that the incident was still an "open investigation" and could not provide any more details.

Rascal Flatts addressed the suddenly-shortened concert via a statement on their Facebook page that was posted this morning.

"Indianapolis - Due to a security concern at the show last night, standard procedures were quickly executed and everyone was able to safely leave the building," the post reads. "The safety of our fans, band and crew is always the top priority for us, so we are so thankful for everyone who jumped into action and for your understanding. We will be back soon!"
