Ray Stevens is revealing his future plans after suffering a heart attack earlier this year. Stevens underwent surgery, and is continuing his recovery. Now, the Country Music Hall of Fame member reveals new plans, in light of his recent health crisis, including what he plans to do with his Nashville CabaRay theater, where he regularly performs.

"At 86 and with my recent health problems, it's probably time to slow down, and selling CabaRay is the first step," says Stevens. "But in the interim, I still plan on doing shows once I'm fully recovered. I still have a lot I want to do in the recording studio, so I'll focus all of my energy in that direction, along with making videos to go along with the music from time to time."
It's the end of one chapter for Stevens. But he adds that while sad for him, he hopes it's the start of an exciting new chapter for someone else.
"I'd like to see someone buy it and have as much fun here as I've had," the singer-songwriter adds.
Stevens also shares more about his plans to sell his Nashville venue on social media. Stevens opened CabaRay in 2018.
"It's a great facility," Stevens boasts. "And we've had weddings, TV show tapings, fundraising events for charities, political campaigns, corporate meetings, and all-star music performances with and without banquet dinners, all prepared and served here. It's a multi-use facility, but primarily, it's an outstanding music venue. The sound is fabulous."
What Happened To Ray Stevens
On July 4, Stevens began experiencing chest pains. He was subsequently admitted to a local Nashville hospital, where it was determined he had suffered a mild heart attack.
"Last Friday evening, Ray complained of chest pain and was admitted to a Nashville hospital," a statement reads. "After a heart catheterization procedure, it was determined he'd suffered a mild heart attack. Ray's initial surgery was successful, but performances at his CabaRay Showroom are understandably cancelled through July 2025 as he recovers."
Later, a new update shared the good news that Stevens was already on the way to recovery.
"Ray is out of ICU and beginning to walk the halls as therapy with a nurse's assistance as he is working towards recovering from this surgery," a new statement reveals. "Ray is very grateful for all of the cards and get well messages. Everything is Still Beautiful!!!!"
